Project Magnet
This project was developed as part of a game jam with the theme "Duality." The game is a local co-op 2D platformer that challenges players to work together using their unique abilities to navigate through intricate levels. Each player uses a magnet to manipulate metallic boxes, with one player moving on the floor and the other navigating upside down on the ceiling.
My contributions to the project included designing and creating the game levels, ensuring that they provided both challenge and enjoyment. I also implemented controller support for both PlayStation and Xbox controllers, enhancing accessibility for players. Additionally, I developed the player movement mechanics, ensuring smooth and responsive controls to support the cooperative gameplay experience.
About the Game
Welcome to our local co-op 2D platformer, where teamwork is the key to success! In this unique game, two players must collaborate to navigate through challenging levels and reach the finish line. Each player is equipped with a magnet that allows them to manipulate metallic boxes throughout the environment.
One player traverses the floor, while the other maneuvers upside down on the ceiling, adding an extra layer of complexity and fun. To progress, both players must coordinate their movements and strategically use their magnets to solve puzzles, overcome obstacles, and overcome the challenges that lie ahead.
This game emphasizes cooperation and communication, offering a dynamic and engaging experience as you and your partner work together to master gravity-defying platforming and complete each level.
